TZFM201 Spring Week 1 Practise

This image of a swan on a local river having a snooze was taken with my Nikon D850 and Sigma 150-600mm lens. Shutter 640secs, ISO 400, Aperture f6.3 at 600mm.

I wanted to focus on the eye of the swan and pick out just this small area to create a simple abstract. I like the curved shapes created by the white wing and the head of the bird and the contrasting black diamond and triangular markings of its eye.

I chose this pic as a good example of how I see my photography as a whole. I purposefully try to challenge myself to look for the less obvious shot and take images - usually of recognisable subjects, such as this swan - but in a unique, often abstract way.
